Drew Smyly pitched six innings Wednesday night, allowing just one run on two hits. He lowered his league best ERA to 1.59, but was stuck with another no decision as the Tigers lost 2-1 to the Seattle Mariners. The offense was quiet yet again. Detroit only had five hits on the night and Miguel Cabrera was 0-13 in the three games series. The Tigers continue to struggle against the Mariners, as they have now lost five out of the six meetings between the two teams.
Detroit is now 15-15 on the season, and sit two games back of the Cleveland Indians in the Central Division. The ball club now heads off to Oakland, where they begin a four game series with the Athletics starting tomorrow at 10:05PM. The game will feature Detroit’s Max Scherzer, and Oakland’s Bartolo Colon.
